Welcome to the 2010 world of Timberline...
We are often asked the question: “Who is Timberline?”
Well, we are a British family owned business which over the last 15 years has become increasingly involved in the manufacture and installation of a wide range of attractively priced products serving a wide range of customers throughout the UK and overseas.
So, let’s look at the highlights...
Manufacturing
Yes, we manufacture...pretty well everything that we sell is made by us in our extensive factory in Chesterfi eld, Derbyshire. People can refer to the UK manufacturing industry as “ a dying breed” if they wish, but we manufacture in a big way. We make all our own timber components.
We make the towers, the tunnels, the doors, the windows, the rope climbers, the high impact panels, the roofs, the fl oors…. almost everything.
Installation
Yes, we install ourselves. With 12 in-house installation teams, we cover the entire country. Trained Timberline installers well versed in their product range and the techniques of installation. When it comes to “wetpour” materials, we also employ our own teams, with the expertise necessary to ensure that our customers receive a top quality product.
In addition, we are CHAS accredited (Contractors Health & Safety Scheme) thus ensuring highest standards are upheld.
Attractive Prices
All our prices are published in this brochure. In the majority of instances, they cover both manufacture and delivery & installation. We are often complimented on our price levels, and this is achieved, not by cutting corners in any way at all...we have a reputation for being in the upper quality echelons of the industry. Savings are made by large-scale manufacture…. bulk manufacture, longer runs, buying quality materials in volume. And further economies by supplying direct from factory to you, the customer. You deal with Timberline, and it is Timberline who make the product, deliver it to your door and install it with our own teams. A direct supply, the cost benefi t of which is passed on to our customers.
Increasingly
We have expanded typically at 25% per annum year on year for the last 3 years, and the company plan is to continue on that basis. We started some 15 years ago, but Timberline in its present format has been expanding solidly since the year 2000. In the last 3 years alone, we have installed in excess of £25 million worth of equipment throughout the UK.
Family Owned
Does the title "family-owned", in relation to a business, mean old fashioned and decadent, or progressive and caring? Well, we strongly believe in the latter, and the ethos of the company is that of a family business in the best sense of the word. Timberline is owned and directed on a day-to-day basis by Tony and his two sons, Simon and Richard. We have strong family values, and we try to ensure that the company, in all respects, upholds those values. We aim at a subtle combination of professionalism and friendliness.
Team
The family are just part of the team. We have top Operations, Financial and Sales Directors along with a 130 strong team of administrative and sales & marketing personnel, manufacturing specialists and installation teams. All coming together wtih their individual skills to produce, what we hope is the best in customer service.
A Wide Range of Products
We cannot begine to describe the length and breadth of our "offering". With the emphasis on timber, we make climbing towers, imaginative play equipment, adventure trails, pavilions, gazovas, awings, tables and the new extensive range of Timberlodges for educational, commercial and residential use including a new range of swimming pool and hot tub enclosures. And very importantly, the fast-growing "Play Maker" range of products for the Early Years sector.
A Wide Range of Customers
We supply to schools... State schools, private schools, independent schools... schools for children of all ages and abilities. We supply to holiday parks. We supply to care homes. We supply to Parish Councils. We supply to stately homes and tourist attractions. And of course we supply increasingly to private individuals, embellishing their own gardens, homes and lifestyles.
Throughout the UK and Overseas
Our installation teams cover the length and breadth of the UK. Centrally located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire we have good access to the motorway network, and can delivery quickly and efficiently to any part of the country. And increasingly our products are finding appeal to many customers in continential Europe and further afield. "Made in England" still holds true!
Serving our Customers
We have saved the best until last!... call it "Customer Service" or "Customer Relations" or what you will. To us, this is the bit that matters. Customer Service starts from the moment our customers express an interest. We aim to be friendly and polite, and hopefully not over-pushy! We try to get to them the information they require... brochures, leaflets, presentations, drawings, quotations, specific proposals. And quickly. When they would like to discuss it with one of our field experts, we try to get there quickly and be informative, polite, and human!
When an order is placed, we aim to clarify exactly what the customer can expect, and when. We inform you as to who will be handling the contract until completion. During the manufacturing

period, we try to keep in touch with our customers and plan the installation dates to suit them.
When we come on site, we aim to be polite, tidy and efficient... and arrive at a time that we have indicated.
Inevitably, "the best laid plans of mice and men" and all that, but we assure you that this is very, very important to us and we really do try very hard.
If there are any concerns after installation, we aim to be there in the shortest possible time and with the most constructive possible attitude!
Most importantly, we want to look after our customers on a long term basis. Hopefully this is the reason why a very high percentage of our orders has been repeat business or referrals from customers who had ordered from previously and were impressed with the job and service they recieved.
Serviing our customers... We aim to make sure that this sums up what our business is all about. Thank you so much for your interest, and here's wishing you a very successful year. Best Regards.
